Police Busted New Baby Factory In Abia State

Many Nigerians including i thought the era of the proliferation of the so called baby factories in Nigeria has been nipped in the bud but they have resurfaced as the Abia State Police Command has busted another of such factories and arrested two nurses and four pregnant inmates, among whom was one with a two year old baby, disclosing that they were rescued during a raid of a hospital allegedly used as baby factory.

The state's Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, while parading the suspects in the state capital, Umuahia, said though the Medical Director of the private hospital where the nefarious act was being perpetrated had bolted by the time the police got to the facility, the police was on his trail.

The police spokesman say the fleeing doctor and the nurses were using the hospital as shelter for young women with unwanted pregnancy only to buy off the babies upon delivery and in turns sell them to willing buyers.

The Police Command warned dubious medical practitioners and charity homes in the state who use their facilities as baby factories to desist from the wicked act or face the wrath of the law.

3 Students Of ESUT Shot And In Criticial Condition

Three students of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Agbani, are in critical condition at the the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) after being shot and wounded by suspected armed bandits who invaded their hostel, The Nation reports.

The affected students are currently undergoing intensive surgery at the hospital where they were rushed to in the early hours of Saturday. One of the students was shot in the stomach and it was suspected that some pellets of the bullet were lodged in his abdomen for which doctors are battling to remove.



The two other victims were also undergoing surgery at the hospital while efforts were being made to contact their parents.

The Unique Hostel where the incident occurred and other hostels within the Agbani Permanent site of the university, according to sources, have been placed under security watch as it was suspected that the gunmen could be members of a secret cult.

To forestall a reprisal attack, the source said, the management had taken measures to beef up security at the hostels with plain-clothe policemen deployed to strategic locations.

Police spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu,  who confirmed the armed attack said that preliminary investigations revealed that the gunmen could be “student robbers”,  assuring that the police would do everything possible to get to the root of the matter.

He could not say if any arrest had been made but he said that the command was already on top of the situation and would give further details after the ongoing investigations.

“From what we gathered when the gunmen attacked some students at the ESUT Unique Lodge, which is mainly Boys Hostel, there was a stiff resistance by the students who succeeded in arresting one of the gunmen.  The arrested gunman alerted his armed colleagues who returned to the hostel and began shooting indiscriminately during which three of the students were shot and wounded,” the police spokesman said.

Fight Among Boko Haram As Many Killed For Leadership

Reports emanating from the camp of the dreaded Islamist insurgent sect, Boko Haram, has it that there is serious infighting amongst members over who should take over the leadership position of the group with the apparent death of the leader, Abubakar Shekau, in the fierce gun battle that ensued between the terrorists and the Nigerian Military in Konduga, Borno State, with scores killed in the process.

Another source of the infighting is said to be on whether the group should surrender and hand over their weapons, with many of the leaders opting for the group giving themselves in to the government while others insist they should follow the example of their late leader and fight on.

Daily Sun reports that about 30 of the insurgents have so far lost their lives as ferocious clashes have been recorded barely a week after Shekau's demise.

The battle field, it was gathered, was the sect's camp in Madagali, Adamawa State, as various factions slugged it out over who should succeed the late Shekau.

The Sun reports that some members who managed to escape and were caught said they fled because some senior members have been engaging in a succession battle and that any of their followers have been killed while many others escaped.

A resident, Musa, told Sun;

From what we learnt, 30 Boko Haram fighters have been killed in Madagali town after a fight ensued between them over whether to surrender their weapons. They just kept shooting themselves freely

Boko Haram’s Top Commander Abakar Ali, Have Been Captured By Cameroon Military

                

Cameroonian soldiers have captured Abakar Ali, one of the top commanders of insurgent fighters belonging to the Islamist group, Boko Haram. According to our reliable source, the Cameroonian army also seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the Islamist militants during the operation.

Abakar Ali who also goes by name "Mustapher Umar" was caught with 5 machine guns, 14 rifles, 24 rockets, 4 rocket launchers, 6  Kalashnikovs, 60 Kalashnikovs magazines, 4 automatic pistols , over 500 9mm ammunition, 469 12.7mm ammunition, 4,454 7.62 mm ammunition, 1,491 5.56 mm ammunition, 822 ammunition of 7.62 mm, 6 grenades, 28 rocket launcher chargers and other weaponized accesories like pincers, tweezers and knives.

 A mid-level Nigerian military officer, who is serving with a multi-national force that operates around the Nigeria-Cameroon border, revealed the information to SaharaReporters via telephone. He disclosed that Cameroonian soldiers nabbed Mr. Ali along with two other Boko Haram fighters in Kousseri, a town in northern Cameroon.

Our source described Mr. Ali as the insurgent commander who has been leading the Islamist sect’s attacks around the border towns between Nigeria and Cameroon. He added that the arrested insurgent shuttled between various Boko Haram camps in the area and organized deadly attacks that targeted mostly civilians.

The Nigerian officer stated that the Cameroonian military was expected to share intelligence with their Nigerian counterparts regarding any confessions made by the captured terrorist during interrogation. He added that Nigerian security agencies are likely to learn more about Mr. Ali’s linkages with others in Boko Haram’s cells in Nigeria's northeast area.

The former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ekiti State, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye has been shot dead.

Residents told SaharaReporters late evening that Aderiye was killed by unknown gunmen at Ijigbo area in Ado Ekiti.

Mr. Aderiye was on his way home when the gunmen   numbering about four accosted and shot him at close range.

Mr. Aderiye, a staunch supporter of Governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose was part of Mr. Fayose’s team that attacked a state high court judge earlier in the day.

South African Pastor Lesego Daniel, Gives Congregation Petrol To Drink

Lesego Daniel, the controversial South African pastor who first made major news when video appeared of him asking members of his congregation to eat grass, has made news yet again as video has surfaced of him telling his members to drink unleaded fuel, which he claimed to have converted to juice.

Equating himself to biblical figures like Moses and Jesus, the pastor claimed during an August service that the converted petrol can "miraculosly" cure infertility and other afflictions. "This is prophetic," he said.

"When I command you to come you will come whether you like it or not, and you'll do as the Word says." the pastor furthered.

Those who sampled the flammable beverage passed around by the preacher ranged in reaction. Some asked for more, saying the drink was as tasty as iron brew or pineapple juice, and some said it tasted like blood. Others collapsed.

In January 2014, when Daniel asked parishioners to eat grass, many fell ill as a result.

Man Have Been Sent To Prison For Raping A Dog In US

  James Guy Bull, a 62-year-old Florida, Unites States of America man, will spend the next 5 years in prison for consecutively raping his 8-months old dog named Coco.

The USA Today reports that in March this year, Bull's neighbours reported that the man had been seen several times fondling Coco’s private parts and on another occasion, another neighbour called the police reporting Bull actually making love to the dog in his apartment.

Police authorities visited his residence where they found evidence that he had indeed raped Coco. It was also discovered that the accused had been starving the dog and depriving her of shelter.

At trial, Bull pleaded guilty to two counts of felony cruelty to animals, misdemeanor animal cruelty charges and misdemeanor sexual activities involving animals.

Coco has since been taken to an animal rescue group, who have renamed her “Rose.”

28year Old Beautiful Nurse Commited Suicide After Suffering Chronic Skin Disease

A health visitor with a first class honours degree in nursing was found hanged after she Commited Suicide because she became tormented by her severe skin condition.

Hollie McEwen, a dedicated professional, first suffered psoriasis as a 12-month-old but it eased with treatment. However, it later reappeared due to stress and the 28-year-old became so depressed she took her own life at home.

Her father Andrew told an inquest: 'Her condition played a large part in what she decided to do.

'She was a beautiful, vibrant young woman who felt she couldn't deal with the condition. She felt this was the only way out.'

The Doncaster hearing was told she had suffered from bulimia as a teenager. Her family believed the eating disorder stemmed from her ongoing issues with her skin condition.

Her mother Wendy said: 'Her skin condition played a large part in her problems as a teenager and when older I feel this was at the root of all the problems.'

Hollie's body was found just two days after she had sought medical help for her depression.

She had spent a long time writing several letters to loved ones which were found in a bin.

Her father, who saw her the evening before the tragedy said: 'She was a happy, young woman who enjoyed her work and social life but she kept everything very close to herself. We had a good laugh on that last night and there was no indication she was unhappy.'

Mrs McEwen said her daughter, who lived in Scawsby, Doncaster, had treatment for psoriasis over the last few years involving hospital stays and steroids after suffering anxiety attacks.

Hollie had enjoyed a family holiday in Turkey but was 'down' after being given an anti-depression drug by her GP which failed to lighten her mood.

'She was an intelligent, determined and organised young woman,' she said. 'I told her to keep going with the tablets and give it time.'

When told about her daughter's death she said: 'I was in absolute shock. Her death has left a large hole in our family. I still can't understand why this has happened.'

Hollie's brother Andrew told the inquest: 'She was a happy young woman who enjoyed her work and social life. She kept everything very close to herself.'

He said there was no indication that she was unhappy the evening before she died. He added: 'As a teenager she was always conscious of her skin condition and it worried her greatly.'

Hollie's neighbour Elaine Lunn found a note from her on the morning of Friday, May 23 asking her to call the emergency services so Hollie's family would not find her body.

She said: 'I believe she had planned it. There was nothing to suggest prior that she was going to do anything like this. I feel totally distraught.'

She added: 'She was a very attractive young woman. She was energetic, thoughtful and caring and studied to further her career. She was very bright and intelligent.'
 

Nurse and friend Angelina Deighton, who trained with Hollie at Sheffield Hallam University, said she knew her psoriasis had worried Hollie and she said she was having treatment and counselling.

'She was always the life and soul of our friendship group,' she said. 'She was always bubbly. She had a boyfriend for a few months in 2013 but it fizzled out and she wasn't concerned about it.

'Lately she described being tired, down and just not coping. She had been to her GP for anti-depressants but she didn't think counselling would help her and she tried to help herself.

'I tried time and time again to get her to seek help. She had many friends who thought she would never do anything like this.'

Behavioural psychotherapist Jessica Dunn, who had a session with Hollie just two days before she died, said Hollie had started to feel anxious and overwhelmed at having to plan a friend's hen party.

'She was well presented with immaculate hair and make-up,' said Miss Dunn. She had 'dark thoughts' but had no intention of carrying them out. 'She told me "I wouldn't put my family through that".'

Hollie had been avoiding her friends and not socialising because her mood was so low. After breaking down in tears in the witness stand Miss Dunn said: 'I had no concern for her safety.'

Nigerian Army confirms Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau Is Dead

The Defence Headquarters has released a statement claiming to have killed a man posing as the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau (or his impersonator) in an attack (both land and air) in Konduga Borno state between 12nd to 17th September. Find the statement after the cut...

Nigerian troops have been conducting coordinated air and land operations in furtherance of efforts at containing the terrorists in the North East part of the country. Somehow, it became apparent that the terrorists in continuation of their campaign of terror were determined to take over communities around Maiduguri which is their prime target. 

There was therefore the need to ensure that communities such as Konduga were protected. It is noteworthy that the terrorists made not less than four attempts between 12 and 17 September 2014 to violate the security and enter Konduga to perpetrate their atrocities. Air and land forces were subsequently deployed to handle the situation.

 The convoy of combat vehicles typical of terrorists’ mission that involves their top commanders, were fiercely engaged by the land and air forces. Several of the terrorists including some of their commanders lost their lives in the encounters which lasted an average of about 5 hours each. 

The troops captured some of the terrorists and their equipment. In the course of those encounters, one Mohammed Bashir who has been acting or posing on videos as the deceased Abubakar Shekau, the eccentric character known as leader of the group died. Since the name Shekau has become a brand name for the terrorists’ leader, the Nigerian military remains resolute to serve justice to anyone who assumes that designation or title as well as all terrorists that seek to violate the freedom and territory of Nigeria.

On restoring normalcy after the encounter, inhabitants of the community who were victims of terrorists activities corroborated information on the identity of Bashir Mohammed alias Abubakar Shekau, alias Abacha Abdullahi Geidam alias Damasack etc. Indeed, the recent devastation on the leadership of the insurgents is attributable to the renewed commitment to the mission of eradicating terrorism in our country.

Meanwhile, a total of 135 terrorists have yesterday evening surrendered along with equipment to troops around Biu Local Government Area. A group of 88 submitted themselves at Mairiga/Bun – Yadi while another group of 45 terrorists were taken in around Mubi – Michika. They are all being interrogated and processed in conformity with the dictates of standard best practices.

The Defence Headquarters applauds the gallantry of the Nigerian troops who have remained undaunted and professional in prosecuting this campaign against terror. The keen interest exhibited by our neighbours and allies is commendable and we appreciate them. All allies in the war against terrorism are hereby assured of the Nigerian military’s resolve to maintain momentum in the efforts to decimate and defeat terrorists. The invaluable efforts toward achieving sustainable peace and victory against the terrorists are highly appreciated.

A 55 year old man named Chief Jude Dike (pictured above) who police say is the sponsor and leader of a 7-man gang was today September 23rd arrested alongside six other members of his gang at the Lagos state police headquarters in Ikeja.

The others paraded were; Joel Eghon, 38, Solomon Igwe, 32, Ifeanyi Onwuegbuchi, 34, Emmanuel Ifeanyi, 34, Ejike Emegwo, 31, and Leonard Afoaku, 39. See more photos after the cut...

 

According to PM news, Chief Dike, a resident of Ajegunle, confessed to being the sponsor of the robbers by providing them with weapons for their operation and facilitating the sales of whatever they steal from any of their operations.

Speaking on how they were arrested, the State Commissioner of Police, Cornelius Aderanti said on September 20th, information got to him that some armed robbers who had earlier snatched a Toyota Hiace bus around Ebute Metta were planning another operation. He immediately instructed men of the State Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, to chase after the robbers. They were arrested and the stolen Toyota car recovered.

Also a Barretta pistol with serial number P17531 and ammunition were recovered from them. When interrogated, 55 year old Dike confessed to the crime saying he got into the business by accident and continued because it was very lucrative. The suspects will soon be charged to court, according to the police....

The third breast was made from a silicone implant and skin tissue from her abdomen. She also admits her parents were horrified by the result and have since stopped talking to her. Graphic pics: Popular Politician Killed In Lagos

Political campaigns have begun and the first casualty has been recorded in the centre of Lagos politics, the Lagos Island. A popular local politician named Azeez Ashake was shot dead at close range in front of his house at Isale Eko on Saturday September 20th by suspected political thugs.

His son, Usman was also shot but is said to still be alive receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos Island. Azeez Ashake is said to be a strong leader of a particular political group in Lagos Island, and is said to be very influential. His killing caused a lot of chaos in Isale Eko over the weekend, where it's been reported that four people have so far been killed in retaliation for his death.

The police tried over the weekend to restore peace to the area. Several policemen and police patrol vans were deployed to the area, but this didn't stop political thugs from fighting at intervals.
