Woman Dumps Her 1-Day-Old Baby Into Toilet In Anambra State
The woman was said to have confessed that she decided to dump the newborn baby into the toilet to save her the agony of nursing a baby, which, she said, could disturb her business.
She was said to have a protruded stomach, a peculiar nature that made many people in the area, not to be aware that she was pregnant.
According to Nigerian Tribune, when a member of the family, her brother-in-law, wanted to use the toilet, he discovered that water could not flush the waste, as his faeces remained floating.
The brother-in-law, decided to check what could stop the toilet from flushing and on investigation, discovered, to his surprise, that a placenta had been dumped into the toilet, a situation which made him to scream, attracting other residents to the scene, who in utter disbelief, removed the lifeless baby from the toilet.
When the whole family met shortly after the incident and summoned other family members, some of them saw traces of blood stain on the woman’s clothes, the wife of their elder brother, but she refused to give details of the bizarre act, and even denied knowledge of what happened.

According to reports by a popular blogger, Stella Dimoko-Korkus, the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, Lanre Gentry, had a rough time with one of his business partners who gave him the beating of his life at his Ikeja based hotel, in what is seen as business gone sour.According to insiders, the guy who pummeled Gentry to a pulp is a Special Assistant to Osun State Governor Segun Mimiko, named Bashorun Akinloye Akinboni.
Those who peddled the story say that the cause of the fight had to do with Gentry's attempt to play a fast one on the guy who had paid for a house owned by the actress' husband, only for him to turn around and rent the same place to Yoruba gospel artiste, Atorise.
When Bashorun Akinboni went to the hotel to enquire about the arrangement, he coincidentally met Atorise there and an argument ensued. Bashorun Akinboni lost his temper and pounced on Larry Gentry, allegedly beating him to a Pulp.
When the beating got too much and blood was gushing from all his body, Atorise took to his heels, leaving the venue in one piece.
At the end of the day, Gentry ended up with lots bruises and was taken to a hospital where he had bandages would all over him.
Another insider also confirmed the development, saying Lanre Gentry got exactly what he deserved as he is in the habit of duping people who do business with him.

This is perhaps the most difficult article I’ll ever write. It is difficult because I write with a frustrating reality in mind that I am most likely wasting my time. For once I write about an evil, so evil it is unspeakable, yet I feel there is no hope; no one will come to my aide, no one will come to the aide of the women who were violated and their dignity taken away so much so that death will feel better. No, people will celebrate the culture and people will dance to its tunes. Oh, I feel hopeless!
We heard, and some others watched, the other day when some undergraduates took turns to rape a fellow student and videotaped it somewhere in South of Nigeria. And we heard, and some watched, as she begged them to kill her; oh she would have been relieved if only they would oblige her and sniff life out of her; it was better than this horror, this pain, this hurt, this humiliation, this violation, and this absolute damage. Oh, death is not this bad she must have thought; for once she must have desired it, instead of this. Just anything instead of this. I can’t imagine, if you have not been raped, you also cannot imagine. If you could imagine and if we, as a people, could imagine we would not promote songs that praise rape no matter how subtle
I first heard Mr. Olamide Adedeji’s song “Story for the Gods” in a cab. The driver kept repeating the song so I was forced to notice it. Any person with a musical background will notice the wittiness of the producer and the smoothness of the artiste but for my religious convictions I decided to ignore, as I will usually do. Two days later the song kept playing in my head and as I try to fight it I gave a thought to the lyrics of what was coming to my head and I was shocked. In curiosity I searched for the lyrics, got a translation from a Yoruba friend for the Yoruba parts and my mouth dropped open. What? A song praising rape? I died!
Mr. Adedeji begins his song by telling his fans how he took alcohol and weed and then he proclaims “I want to do Sina today”. The translator described “Sina” as a street slang for “fornication/adultery” but that is what he knows. Sina is how some Yoruba persons will pronounce “Zina” which is the technical term for fornication and adultery in Islamic jurisprudence. So he was not only boasting about fornication as a lot of his colleagues do, he was calling it a religious name to make his point clearer and more grievous.
The fellow goes ahead to narrate how the girl with whom he wants to fornicate with is giving excuses. He spoke of how she said she can’t wait, how she said it is getting late, and how she said she wants to faint, and he dismissed this excuses as “story for the gods” meaning he is not going to take no for an answer, he is not going to listen to her, he MUST do this today and nothing, not even the absence of her consent will stop him.
In case that was not convincing enough he continues so that there will be no doubts. He narrates how the lady started saying he is in trouble, “he has broken my back, he has broken my arm” and he again dismiss this again as story for the gods, meaning not even the back breaking and arm breaking or the trouble he is threatened with will stop him from having his way with her. He MUST do this and he must do so by force. Oh God! Our people did not stone him, they did not even say please we do not want this; they accepted this obvious and heartless glorification of rape. What have we turn into?
By telling us her excuse yet insisting he must force her, Mr. Olamide is telling the world and teaching his fans one of two things. It is either she wants it but she is lying because that is how they lie, or ‘she does not want it’ must not be a good reason for “big boy” not to have it. You may think the latter is more clearly rape but ironically the former is even more popular among rapists; they assume the no of women mean yes. If a musician of his caliber endorses this then what happens to the millions of youths who want to do everything he does? When will they ever hear a “no” and take it as such? How many girls will be raped for this wicked orientation? And who will give them justice?
Someone said rape is the most easy accusation to make and the most difficult to prove. This explains why even in the so called advanced countries about 90% of rapeincidents are not reported. The victim either “end it all” or enters into prostitution thereafter and/or she becomes enslaved for life, often, to depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), flashbacks, sleeping and eating problems, dissociative personality disorder, guilt, feeling of worthlessness, among other countless psychological problems. All of these while dealing with the usual physical challenge of painful sexual intercourse, urinary infection, Uterine Fibroid, and whatever sexually transmitted disease her rapist has to offer. All of these while Mr. Olamide makes his money, drinks more alcohol and encourage the public to rape more girls
I do agree with those who say rape is the crime in which a person is left with the most violation. What violation can be more than being a victim of rape and hearing a songpraising rape everywhere around you because the people do not care neither does the government
As if this impunity was not enough, Mr. Olamide goes ahead to make a video of this song. A video so painfully humiliating to women you will excuse the song itself. He tops all these atrocities with a display of lesbianism whereas the law of the land says:
“The public show of same sex amorous relationship directly or indirectly is prohibited. A person who registers, operates or participate in gay clubs, societies and organisation, or DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY MAKES PUBLIC SHOW OF SAME SEX AMOROUS RELATIONSHIP IN NIGERIA COMMITS AN OFFENCE AND IS LIABLE ON CONVICTION TO A TERM OF 10 YEARS IMPRISONMENT.” - Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, 2013 stated in Section 4&5, subsections 2
But then after presenting all these facts to me I asked my Secretary why such a man has not been arrested and he gave me an answer that broke my heart. He said “sir, he has a lot of money, so nothing will happen”
While innocent Nigerians spend years in detention without trial for as much as being accused of stealing water melon, we are watching to see what will happen now that the boastfully wealthy is on record promoting rape and bullshiting the law. We truly hope something happens this time around. We truly hope that Mr. Olamide withdraws this evil of a song and apologises to everyone or the police does the needful. None of these two seem likely however. I guess the Rape (mind the “e”) Ambassador will laugh within wine and tell his boys how this is yet another story for the gods….and nothing will happen.
I am glad God Almighty is not man and I am glad He has promise to pay everyone back in their own coin. There is hope after all

63 Senators Sign Up To Impeach President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
The impeachment against President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is said to have gathered momentum as 63 senators are now said to be backing the plan.
According to Punch newspaper reports, The Senators in question, including eight from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have signed a document to show their support for the impeachment notice against the president.
One of the legislators, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly told Punch that the plans to remove Jonathan were stemmed from his handling of the economic and political affairs of the country, a high level of corruption and “gross disregard” of the legislature.
The Senator said:

A roadside bombing by Boko Haram has claimed 35 lives in Adamawa State, according to reports.The explosion reportedly went off in the Mararaba-Mubi area of the state yesterday, Thurs, 27th Nov, killing the victims instantly.
According to a witness, a team of hunters and soldiers were patrolling the area when the bomb allegedly planted by the terrorists exploded.
The witness said.
“My house is some metres from the scene of the incident. I stood outside my compound watching the suburb and all of a sudden, I heard a loud bang which shook the entire surroundings. The few people who were returning to the area started running away and the area was immediately cordoned off by the military,''
The Nigerian army is said to be investigating the incident and no official casualty figure has been released.

John Onyekachi Oshomi (pictured right) who claimed to be a bus conductor said he joined the gang because he needed to take care of his family. The two were was arrested on November 21st.
"I was a commercial bus conductor. We were operating on the Agege Total-Oshodi route. I just got married, but my wife is still in the village. I was looking for money to feed her whenever she comes to Lagos; that was why I went into armed robbery. ” Sunday confessed.
According to The Nation, the Lagos state police commissioner said he got a tip off on November 21 at 10pm that some armed robbers were planning to rob in Lagos. He said he immediately directed the Officer-in-Charge, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Abba Kyari, a Superintendent of Police (SP), to go after them.
“With two decoy teams, they stormed their hideout and arrested Onyekachi Oshomi and John Sunday with a revolver pistol. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime including snatching of several cars within the metropolis. Efforts have been stepped up to arrest those that are still at large,” Aderanti said.
Both men will be charged to court soon.

A gang of kidnappers including two brothers and his wife, Kelvin Igah, Victor Igah and Ogechi Kelvin, have been arrested for kidnapping a top Lagos businessman, Alhaji Hammed Fashola, and they confessed how they chained their victim in the toilet for 4 days before he was rescued.
Kelvin's wife, Ogechi, was also involved in the kidnap and she is also in police net while another suspect, simply named Kingsley, was also arrested.
According to Punch Newspaper, The three suspects were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad from their hideout on Odeniyi Ishola Street, Isheri-Oshun, Lagos four days later, while Fashola was rescued by the police.
In his confessional statement while being paraded by the police, the 39-year-old Kelvin who is from Delta State, said that Alhaji Fashola owed his friends some money and had refused to pay up, hence the decision to kidnap him and make him pay the money by all means.
Kelvin, a father of two children, added that the gang chained 55-year-old Fashola and locked him up inside a toilet for the four days he spent with them.
"I was the one assigned to stay with Alhaji. On that Thursday, Ike and Odogwu drove Alhaji to my house in Isheri-Oshun. They used my house as the hideout. They said the man owed them some money, and they wanted to make him pay it.
He spent four days with us. I was the one who chained him inside the toilet. I was also bringing him food for the days he spent."
Kelvin, a labourer, added that they had yet to collect the demanded ransom of N20m before the police arrested them.
Kingsley, 43, also from Delta State, said his role was to monitor Fashola’s movement on the day he was abducted by the gang.
"I was assigned to monitor Alhaji’s movement on that Thursday and inform the gang. Once they captured him, I did not follow them to the hideout. I was arrested by the police when the gang named me.
I was working with a private security company in Apapa, Lagos. I first met Ike and Odogwu in 2006 at a place in the Anthony area. I was promised a sum of N150,000 if I participated."
Kelvin’s wife, Ogechi, said that she truly heard the screams of the victim in their toilet but was warned by her husband not to go near the room.
"I did not know it was a businessman they kept inside the toilet. I was instructed not to go there. We have three toilets in the house and they locked him up in one of them.
Whenever the gang members were around, my husband would ask me to go inside with the children. I did not know they kidnapped the man. I knew my husband as a casual worker. My husband said it was one of his bosses who kept the man there. The only mistake I made was that I did not report to the police."

The gang, made up of students of the Delta state Polytechnic Ozoro, had opened a Facebook account disguising as Aliko Dangote and contacted Sa'adat. They invited her to Warri with the promise to make her Dangote brand ambassador. On getting to Warri, Sa'adat was kidnapped and taken to a place on the outskirts of Ozoro town in Isoko Local Government Area in Delta state. The kidnappers then contacted her family and asked for N20m ransom, which was supposed to be paid into a Malaysian account.
Parading one of the suspects before newsmen, the Lagos state Police commissioner said a manhunt for the kidnappers was immediately launched after they contacted the girls family but only one of them was arrested while the others are currently on the run.
When interrogated, one of her abductors, 23 year old Patrick Ifada (pictured above), said he was lured into the kidnap gang because of the money offered
"I accepted to join the gang because of the money involved. We opened a fake Facebook account pretending to be Alhaji Aliko Dangote and we convinced her to come over to Delta State to meet the businessman. At first, our ransom was N20 million. When they were not forthcoming with the money, we brought it down to N15 million and then N10 million. I was the one staying with the victim in our hideout. We were using the quarters of one of our members, Destiny. We are five in number and I was promised a huge sum. Other gang members are Destiny, Marcus Omajuwa, Ugada and Chuka. We are all students of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, ND 1. I was studying Computer Science. She was in our hideout for about two weeks. We asked the Special Adviser to pay the ransom into a Malaysian account that one Fred helped us to set up. None of us raped her. Destiny told us we were only going to make money from her family, and not to assault her" he told Vanguard

3 Friends Attempt To Remove Baby From 8-Months Pregnant Woman's Womb In Jigawa State
Three friends, Adamu Usman Barma, Fawas Bala and Buhari Ahmed, who allegedly attempted to forcefully pull out the baby from the womb of an 8-months pregnant woman at Gusau quarters in Gumel local government area of Jigawa State.The 3 friends were apprehended by operatives of Jigawa State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, after they committed the crime.
The Commandant of the corps in the state, Dr. Muhammed Gidado, revealed that his men had a distress call and rushed to the scene of the incident where they caught the men in the act, with one of the suspects holding the pregnant woman by the neck, another held her legs, while the third attempted to pull out the baby.
He said the lady, identified as Maryam Muhammed, currently on admission in an unnamed hospital, admitted that she had been having affairs with the three men.
The suspects confessed that the pregnancy belonged to them and they had told her to abort it, but that she refused.

Veteran footballer, Yomi Peters Dies Of Cancer Yesterday In University Hospital
Ex-goalkeeper and coach of the Stationery Stores of Lagos Yomi Peters died yesterday morning November 26th at the Lagos University Hospital, LUTH after a battle with cancer. He was 74.
Peters was also an ex-Mandilas FC player. He was recently honoured as a veteran of Federation Cup during the last cup final at Teslim Balogun Stadium, where he was represented by his wife. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Buhari’s Jet Barred From Landing In Makurdi, Benue State
A chartered jet conveying former head of state and a leading candidate of the opposition All progressives Congress (APC), retired General Muhammad Buhari was prevented from landing in Makurdi yestday,26th Nov. around 1pm.
A source close to the general told Sahara reporters that some 20 minutes before landing, the pilot was informed that the jet did not have permission to land in Makurdi, citing an order from above.
Attempts by General Buhari’s handlers to speak with aviation authorities failed as they claimed persons involved in reversing the order could no longer be reached by phone.
Sahara Reporters reached out to Nigeria's minister of aviation, Osita Chidoka, who claimed he was not aware of such developments.

A 35-year-old man, Derek ward, of Long Island, New York, USA, who murdered his mother Prof. Patricia Ward, who is 66year-old (pictured above) by cutting off her head and used it as football on the streets before jumping in front of a train and killed himself.Prof. Patricia Ward, was found near her Farmingdale home. The grim murder was capped off when Derek allegedly kicked his mother's head across the street like a soccer ball, neighbors told investigators, according to the New York Daily News.
The woman was wearing only a bra and pants when police found her, according to one witness.
According to the police officer Frank Imperial:
"The body's feet were at the curb, the shoulders were at the middle of the street. The head was across the street.
I've seen some gruesome stuff in my years of living but nothing like this. I didn't expect to see something like this, especially not out here."
A neighbor told the Daily News that he saw blood on the floor of the building.
"It was all over, as if someone could've been pulling a body. You could see the smears going down the stairs."
An eastbound train was delayed nearly two hours after striking Derek Ward around 8:15 p.m., the station reported. Passengers were not allowed off until after another train arrived at nearly 10:30 p.m.

Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Wednesday lampooned the National Assembly, saying it is largely an assemblage of looters and thieves.

In a speech he delivered at the public presentation of “The Story Of My Two Worlds; Challenges, Experiences And Achievements” written by Justice Akanbi, the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, the former president said the National Assembly, which he said is shrouding its corruption in the opaque nature of its budget, has damaged its capacity to oversight the executive.
He accused the President Goodluck Jonathan-led executive of making direct payments to the legislature in order to cover up its wrong doings.
“Apart from shrouding the remunerations of the National Assembly in opaqueness and without transparency, they indulge in extorting money from departments, contractors and ministries in two ways,” Mr. Obasanjo said.
“They do so during visits to their projects and programmes and in the process of budget approval when they build up budgets for ministries and departments, who agree to give it back to them in contracts that they do not execute. They do similar things during their inquiries.”
Mr. Obasanjo said the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration has upped Nigeria’s corruption level through the huge sums of money it has been paying to the National Assembly to stop investigating its corrupt acts.
He said, “Corruption in the National Assembly also includes what they call constituency projects which they give to their agents to execute but invariably, full payment is made with little or no job done.
“In all this, if the executive is not absolutely above board, the offending members of the National Assembly resort to subtle or open threat, intimidation and blackmail. When the executive pay the huge money, normally in millions of dollars, all is quiet in form of whitewashed reports that fail to deal effectively with the issues investigated.”
The former president insisted that over the years, the National Assembly never singled out any corrupt lawmaker except where the executive led in the indictment of a member.
He listed some of the cases where the executive led in exposing corruption in the National Assembly to include those of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Salisu Buhari, and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara.
He maintained that majority of the members of the National Assembly live above the law in both misconduct and corruption and cannot in good conscience carry out oversight duties on any government ministry or department.
Mr. Obasanjo, however, noted that there are still some honourable and distinguished men and women in the National Assembly, who would not do anything to soil their hands.
He said with a largely corrupt legislature, Nigeria is doomed.
“When the guard is the thief, only God can keep the house safe and secure,” he said. “But I am optimistic that sooner than later, we will overcome.
“God will give us guards of integrity and honesty with the fear of God and genuine love of their people and their country.
“Today, there is no institution of government that is not riddled with corruption, not even the military. As the people cry out, where then is the salvation.”
The former president also drew attention to the growing level of youth unemployment in the country, warning that unless urgent steps are taken to address the situation, the country could implode.
Mr. Obasanjo provided figures suggesting that out of the country’s estimated 178.5 million population, 70 per cent are below 30 years, with 54 per cent being unemployed.
“I have no doubt in my mind that youth unemployment, youth dissatisfaction and youth frustration were part of the causes of the so-called Arab Spring from which Libya and Egypt have not yet fully come out and which caused insecurity and instability in the whole of the Arab world.
Mr. Obasanjo said;
“We must learn the right lessons and put in place, programmes that will address youth empowerment and youth employment, youth discontent and youth dissatisfaction and youth frustration to avoid youth anger and explosion generated there from,''

According To NBC News, the little boy shot and killed his mother after finding a loaded semi-automatic handgun in their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma yesterday November 25th.
The woman's mother who also lives in the house, but wasn't present when the horrible accident occurred, came home and found the 3 year old and 1 year old covered in blood and crying, this is according to Tulsa police. She found her daughter unresponsive beside her children and thought she'd been killed by an intruder. She immediately called the police.
But while investigating, the police found out that the boy had found the gun under a sofa in the living room and had accidentally fired it. Unfortunately his mum was in the line of fire. Police said when they visited the home, they found a lot of guns there. The woman's husband wasn't home when the incident occurred.
